The game's just so far down in the gutter these days, and Sam Roberts has gotten so damn good at what he does (to these ears it's highly polished power pop with a light coat of stoner rock "mystique") that the airwaves simply light up.

"Them Kids" and "Fixed to Ruin" don't try to change the game. This might be an indictment of popular Canadian radio (yet not necessarily all Canadian popular music) but the singles off Love at the End of the World usually need only a few bars to obliterate anything played in the same set.
